The Secretary of the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, on behalf of Ministries, Independent Departments, Government Agencies, Regional Administrations, and Local Government Authorities (MDAs & LGAs), invites job applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill fifteen (15) vacant positions as outlined in this announcement.
1.1 QUANTITY SURVEYOR II – 5 POSITIONS
1.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Prepare plans and cost estimates for construction and tenders (bill of quantities);
ii. Review and evaluate ongoing projects for payment purposes;
iii. Collect data on construction material prices for various projects;
iv. Prepare and evaluate costs for additional works when they arise (Valuation of Variations);
v. Prepare project resource requirements (Project Resources); and
vi. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor in line with the cadre.
1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must hold a Degree/Advanced Diploma in one of the following fields: Construction Management, Building Survey, Building Economics, Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution. Must be registered as a Graduate Quantity Surveyor with the Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB).

1.2 LIVESTOCK OFFICER II – 5 POSITIONS
1.2.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Design livestock production plans at the district level;
ii. Coordinate livestock production in small and large-scale livestock farms;
iii. Assist in coordinating expansion plans related to livestock production at the district level;
iv. Coordinate and conduct training on livestock breeding, livestock product processing for livestock experts and farmers;
v. Review and improve livestock market infrastructure at the district and regional levels;
vi. Design, initiate, and implement livestock development projects at the district level;
vii. Conduct resource surveys (e.g., livestock, livestock feed, pastures, etc.) in the working area;
viii. Conduct training for agents, sellers, and experts on safe methods of storing and distributing livestock inputs;
ix. Research new areas suitable for various livestock farming;
x. Assess environmental damage caused by livestock farming in the district;
xi. Participate in activities to control outbreaks of destructive animals/pests;
xii. Monitor, record, analyze, and interpret livestock production statistics;
xiii. Prepare overall reports on livestock development;
xiv. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
1.2.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must hold a Degree in Animal Science or Agricultural Science with a specialization in Animal Science from Sokoine University of Agriculture or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

1.3 LIVESTOCK FIELD OFFICER II – 5 POSITIONS
1.3.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Conduct livestock disease investigations for farmers in the area;
ii. Work with animal health inspectors to inspect meat and slaughterhouse hygiene;
iii. Collect statistics on meat and livestock products such as hides and prepare reports;
iv. Treat and provide vaccines for livestock diseases under the supervision of a veterinary doctor and advise farmers on disease prevention;
v. Regularly visit farmers and provide technical advice in the working area;
vi. Collect all statistics on livestock development and diseases in the working area and prepare reports;
vii. Advise and supervise the construction of dips, slaughterhouses, crushes, and other livestock-related infrastructure;
viii. Supervise the mixing of dip chemicals;
ix. Assist in artificial insemination and livestock breeding in general;
x. Advise farmers on best practices for milk, meat, egg production, and livestock management; and
xi. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor related to the field.
1.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be Form IV or VI graduates with a Diploma (NTA Level 6) in one of the following fields: Livestock Production; Dairy and Poultry Production; Animal Health and Production; Meat Inspection from Livestock Training Agency colleges or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
1.3.3 SALARY SCALE

GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens aged not more than 45 years, except for those already employed in the public service.

vii. Applicants who studied outside Tanzania must ensure their certificates are verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
viii. Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
ix. Applicants already employed in the public service on temporary positions should not apply and must adhere to the guidelines in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
x. Submission of false information and qualifications will lead to legal action.
