Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) aims to be the leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa. As a healthcare social enterprise, CCBRT serves the community and the most vulnerable through development programs. CCBRT is Tanzania’s largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services. Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities, including obstetric fistula repairs. Its recently opened Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral center for high-risk and emergency deliveries in the Dar es Salaam region and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

For the creation of a People with Disabilities Database at CCBRT, we are inviting People with Disabilities to send their CV and application letter indicating their profession/position they are applying for.

The Role

The role will be as per CCBRT’s respective positions.

The Candidate/Applicant

• Lowest level – Form Four
• Certificate/Diploma/Masters/PhD holder in the categories mentioned above
• Registered with the respective professional body (if applicable)
• Possession of a valid license to practice (if applicable)
• Good/excellent verbal and written communication skills in Kiswahili and English
• Excellent patient management and interpersonal skills (where applicable)

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is seeking dynamic and experienced Assistant Nursing Officers (Health Volunteers) to join our nursing department. CCBRT is a leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa, committed to preventing lifelong disabilities and improving maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC).

Role Overview:
As an Assistant Nursing Officer, you will provide clinical nursing care in allocated areas (OPD, IPD, or OTD) while maintaining quality and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring patient dignity and preparing patients for consultations or surgeries.
• Assisting doctors during examinations and surgeries.
• Translating between Kiswahili and English to bridge language barriers.
• Communicating sensitive medical information and counseling patients.
• Performing clinical procedures and maintaining proper records.
• Managing patient flow in clinical areas.

Requirements:

• Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery.
• Valid registration and license from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Experience in reproductive and child healthcare, neonatal care, or critical care is an added advantage.
• Strong communication skills in English and Swahili.
• Flexibility, multitasking ability, proactiveness, and eagerness to learn.

As a leading provider of accessible specialized health services in Africa, CCBRT is committed to preventing lifelong disabilities and improving the quality of life for the most vulnerable populations.

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct refraction for all inpatients and outpatients.
• Perform both objective and subjective refraction for patients.
• Evaluate refractive errors and document findings accurately.
• Conduct additional tests and examinations as required.
• Assist fellow optometrists in their daily tasks.

Qualifications:

• Degree or Diploma in Optometry.
• Minimum of 1 year of post-internship experience with a reputable organization.
• Registered with the Optometry Council.
• Computer literate with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English and Swahili).
• Team-oriented, client-focused, and proactive attitude.
