1.0 NURSE GRADE II (NURSE II) – 37 POSITIONS

1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Perform nursing duties to serve clients in the community, hospitals, and all areas where health services are provided.
ii. Supervise and coordinate the work of all health workers in their area of work.
iii. Collect statistics and prepare performance reports.
iv. Provide home-based care to patients.
v. Offer counseling and advice.
vi. Provide immunization and family planning services.
vii. Provide maternity and child health services.
viii. Educate patients and the community about their health issues.
ix. Monitor the maintenance of equipment in their work area.
x. Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and expertise.

1.1.1 QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a two-year Nursing Certificate from a government-recognized institution and be registered with the Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.

1.2 DENTAL SURGEON GRADE II (DENTAL SURGEON II) – 4 POSITIONS

1.2.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Perform all hospital-based dental treatments.
ii. Provide and supervise oral health education.
iii. Improve oral health in their work area and community.
iv. Perform fillings, extractions, prosthetics, and orthodontics.
v. Supervise subordinate staff.
vi. Investigate, monitor, and prevent disease outbreaks.
vii. Teach students at health training institutions in their area.
viii. Design and conduct research and disseminate findings.
ix. Develop strategies to improve the quality of services in their field.
x. Prepare plans and budget estimates for oral health services.
xi. Participate in medical audits and quality improvement.
xii. Provide outreach services in their district/region.

1.3 PHYSIOTHERAPIST GRADE II (PHYSIOTHERAPIST II) – 18 POSITIONS

1.3.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Provide therapy through exercises and manual techniques.
ii. Collect and maintain patient records and information.
iii. Maintain department equipment.
iv. Provide health education to the community on disability prevention.
v. Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.

1.3.2 QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a Diploma in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution and be fully registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

1.4 PHYSIOTHERAPY OFFICER GRADE II (PHYSIOTHERAPY OFFICER II) – 13 POSITIONS

1.4.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Perform all physiotherapy duties in hospitals for various patients, including children, the elderly, and inpatients.
ii. Examine patients, plan treatment based on their condition, and monitor their progress.
iii. Provide therapy advice and refer patients to other health professionals as needed.
iv. Provide and supervise physiotherapy education and improve physical health in their district/region.
v. Provide counseling on community-based rehabilitation (CBR).
vi. Maintain physiotherapy and disability records as per MTUHA guidelines.
vii. Evaluate physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in their work area.

1.5 BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER GRADE II (BIOMEDICAL ENGINEER II) – 22 POSITIONS

1.5.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Perform maintenance of medical equipment at the district level.
ii. Maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
iii. Perform preventive maintenance of medical equipment.
iv. Order spare parts for medical equipment.
v. Prepare budget estimates for medical equipment maintenance at the district level.
vi. Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and expertise.

1.5.2 QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must have a Degree in Biomedical Engineering from a recognized institution and be registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Tanzania.

1.6 OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST GRADE II (OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST II) – 14 POSITIONS

1.6.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Examine patients to identify and plan therapy.

1.7 RADIOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST GRADE II (RADIOGRAPHY TECHNOLOGIST II – RADIOLOGY) – 7 POSITIONS

1.7.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Perform diagnostic imaging on patients referred to their department.
ii. Maintain radiology equipment in their work area.
iii. Review X-ray images for quality and diagnostic accuracy.
iv. Maintain patient images until results are delivered to the referring doctors.
v. Supervise subordinate staff.
vi. Provide advice on radiology and radiation matters in their work area.
vii. Prepare and sterilize medical equipment.
