ANNOUNCEMENT FOR VOLUNTEER TEACHERS TO TEACH PHYSICS AND MATHEMATICS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE KAGERA REGION.
The Engineers Registration Board (ERB) is a government institution under the Ministry of Works established under the Engineers Registration Act Chapter 63. The Board has the responsibility of regulating the engineering industry by registering and developing professionals.
The Board recognizes that engineering is built on the foundation of Science and Mathematics. Additionally, the Board acknowledges the importance of gender equality in the profession by encouraging girls to love Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) subjects to increase the number of female engineers. In these efforts, the Board identified the challenge of science teachers in secondary schools and is implementing a program to fund the teaching of Science and Mathematics, the STEM Support Program (SSP), by sponsoring volunteer teachers to teach Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
This project is organized by ERB with funding from development partners led by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
