St. Francis Regional Referral Hospital (SFRRH), Ifakara, one of Tanzania’s key regional referral hospitals and a leading faith-based tertiary healthcare institution under the Roman Catholic Diocese of Ifakara, is nationally recognized for delivering quality healthcare, advancing medical research, and fostering professional education. To strengthen its leadership and operational capacity, SFRRH invites qualified candidates to apply for the following key positions:

1. Head of Planning, Finance & Administration

Job Summary: Senior management role overseeing all hospital administrative functions, strategic planning, and budget management to ensure smooth operations and achievement of organizational goals.
Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
    Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years’ progressive experience in hospital/healthcare administration with strong budgeting and leadership skills. Familiarity with healthcare regulations is essential.
    Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Director General.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Leadership and Management
  2. Hospital Administration Oversight
  3. Financial Oversight and Resource Mobilization
  4. Human Resource Coordination
  5. Policy Development and Compliance
  6. Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination
  7. Quality Improvement and Risk Management
  8. Project and Resource Management
  9. Information Management and Technology Adoption

2. Chief Accountant

Job Summary: Responsible for managing all accounting activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and resource management to ensure the hospital’s financial integrity and sustainability. Leads the accounting team.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is mandatory. Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration is an added advantage.
    Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience, with at least 3 years at a senior or managerial level. Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting standards is essential.
    Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Head of Planning, Finance & Administration.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation of Financial Statements and Audit Facilitation
  2. Budget Planning, Execution, and Control
  3. Regulatory Compliance and Statutory Reporting
  4. Authorization of Payments and Expenditure Management
  5. Oversight of Accounting Operations and Internal Controls
  6. Asset and Inventory Financial Management
  7. Revenue Management and Financial Analysis
  8. Team Leadership and Capacity Development
  9. Stakeholder Engagement and Financial Advisory Support
  10. Risk Management and Special Financial Assignments
  11. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.

3. Human Resource Manager

Job Summary: Leads all HR functions, including recruitment, training, compliance, employee relations, and performance management to ensure a motivated and skilled workforce aligned with hospital goals.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management; Master’s degree in HRM, Public Administration, or related fields is preferred.
    Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience, with at least 3 years at a senior or managerial level.
    Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Head of Planning, Finance & Administration.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Human Resource Planning
  2. Oversee hospital-wide talent acquisition
  3. Performance Management and Appraisal
  4. Training and Capacity Building
  5. Compensation and Benefits Administration
  6. Policy Formulation and Compliance
  7. Employee Relations and Disciplinary Management
  8. HR Data Management and Reporting
  9. Succession Planning and Talent Management
  10. Leadership and HR Team Oversight
  11. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.

4. Real Estate Manager

Job Summary: Manages all hospital real estate assets, including property acquisition, lease management, maintenance, compliance, and strategic facility planning.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Properties and Facilities Management, Estate Management, or related fields.
    Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in real estate management.
    Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Head of Planning, Finance & Administration.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee utilization and upkeep of hospital buildings and facilities
  2. Conduct property assessments and surveys
  3. Address accommodation-related concerns
  4. Implement tenant management procedures
  5. Inspect buildings, infrastructure, and equipment
  6. Collaborate with procurement and maintenance teams
  7. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.

5. Internal Auditor

Job Summary: Evaluates internal controls, risk management, and governance processes to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and financial integrity.
Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration (majoring in Accountancy/Finance), plus CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, CIA, or equivalent.
    Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience, with at least 3 years at a senior or managerial level.
    Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Director General.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as in-charge of all internal audit activities
  2. Advise the Hospital Director and Board of Trustees
  3. Develop and implement annual audit work plans
  4. Ensure adherence to audit programs
  5. Formulate audit strategies
  6. Provide reports to management and the Board
  7. Monitor compliance with policies and regulations
  8. Lead capacity-building for the Audit Unit
  9. Conduct operational and financial audits
  10. Safeguard hospital assets and recommend improvements
  11. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Director General.

6. Public Relations Officer

Job Summary: Manages hospital communications, media relations, crisis communication, and community engagement to maintain a positive public image.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, or related fields.
    Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience.
    Reporting Relationship: Reports directly to the Director General.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Coordinate daily PR activities
  2. Monitor media coverage and provide updates
  3. Capture and archive hospital events and initiatives
  4. Develop communication materials
  5. Manage digital platforms
  6. Draft press releases and organize media briefings
  7. Plan and coordinate hospital events
  8. Execute PR campaigns
  9. Support crisis communication
  10. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the Director General.
