VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT
On behalf of the e-Government Authority (e-GA), the President’s Office, Public Service Recruitment Secretariat invites qualified Tanzanians to fill eleven (11) vacant posts as described below.
1.0 e-GOVERNMENT AUTHORITY (e-GA)
The e-Government Authority (e-GA) was established under the e-Government Act No.10 of 2019, with a mandate to coordinate, oversee, and promote e-government initiatives, enforce compliance with e-Government Standards and Guidelines, and ensure effective use of ICT for improved public service delivery.
1.1 ICT OFFICER II (APPLICATION PROGRAMMER) – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, code, and debug software applications for web, mobile, and desktop platforms.
- Assist in user requirements analysis, prototyping, and system integration.
- Perform software testing, quality assurance, and documentation.
- Support and maintain deployed systems, including troubleshooting and user training.
- Evaluate new technologies and ensure compliance with SDLC methodologies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in PHP, Java, C/C++, .NET, Python, and web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
- Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), frameworks (Spring MVC), and tools (Git, Jenkins).
- Relevant ICT certifications are an added advantage.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
1.2 ICT OFFICER II (NETWORK) – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and optimize network performance, security, and capacity.
- Design, install, and maintain network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls).
- Troubleshoot network issues and implement security best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT/Computer Engineering.
- Proficiency in IP/MPLS, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, and network security tools.
- Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, or CEH are preferred.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
1.3 ICT OFFICER II (DATABASE ADMINISTRATION) – 2 POSTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, optimize, and maintain databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Perform backups, recovery, and security management.
- Ensure high availability and performance of database systems.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field.
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix, virtualization, and server infrastructure.
- Certifications like RHCE, MCSE, or CISSP are an advantage.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
1.4 ICT OFFICER II (BUSINESS ANALYST) – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze business processes and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Bridge communication between stakeholders and technology teams.
- Support e-Government project implementation and quality assurance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field.
- Knowledge of SDLC, project management, and programming languages.
- Certifications like CISA or PMP are preferred.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
1.5 ICT OFFICER II (SECURITY MANAGEMENT) – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ICT security policies and procedures.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and incident response.
- Provide cybersecurity training and advisory services.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Security or related field.
- Knowledge of SOC/NOC operations, firewalls, and threat mitigation.
- Certifications like CEH, CISSP, or CISM are an advantage.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
1.6 ICT OFFICER II (STANDARDS AND COMPLIANCE) – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce e-Government standards and guidelines.
- Conduct compliance audits and awareness programs.
- Evaluate global e-Government trends and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field.
- Knowledge of COBIT, ISO 27000, and IT governance frameworks.
- Certifications like CISA or TOGAF are preferred.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
1.7 ICT OFFICER II (HELPDESK) – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide first-level ICT support and resolve user queries.
- Develop and manage helpdesk processes and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with service level agreements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field.
- Strong customer service and technical troubleshooting skills.
- ITIL certification is an added advantage.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
1.8 ICT OFFICER II (DATA ANALYST) – 1 POST
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze data trends, design BI solutions, and create visualizations.
- Perform data preprocessing and ensure accuracy.
- Develop tools for system performance monitoring.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science/IT or related field.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and BI tools (Tableau).
- Knowledge of machine learning is an advantage.
Salary Scale: EGASS 5.1
