The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) does not exist in Tanzania, as INEC is primarily as. In Tanzania, the equivalent body responsible for managing elections is the National Electoral Commission (NEC).
The NEC of Tanzania is tasked with:
- Supervising presidential, parliamentary, and councilor elections.
- Overseeing voter registration and maintaining the Permanent Voters’ Register (PVR).
- Educating the public about electoral processes.
- Ensuring free and fair elections in line with Tanzania’s constitution and DISTRICT
