Research Scientist (1 Post) – Ifakara

Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks a Research Scientist (Epidemiologist). This role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to generate evidence-based solutions that contribute to improving health outcomes, policy formulation, and program implementation.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must hold a master’s degree in Epidemiology or a related field with at least 2-3 years of experience in conducting public health research or epidemiological studies.

Research Officer/Scientist – Intern (6 Posts) – Dar
The intern and mentee will develop research, analytical, and programming skills, manage and visualize data, and design small projects with time-bound deliverables.
Position Summary

Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields such as statistics, mathematics, data science, or similar quantitative disciplines. Proficiency in tools like R, Python, QGIS for data analysis, dashboard development, and machine learning, with a desire to expand skills. Research Officer – Analyst (2 Posts) – Dar
The role involves leading, designing and implementing small projects with deliverables contributing to the overall objective and scope of MAP project.
Position Summary
Ifakara Health Institute seeks a Research Officer for the Malaria Atlas Project (MAP) Dar es Salaam Node.
The role involves conducting literature reviews, data searches, and extracting metrics for modeling, as well as managing and analyzing datasets using tools like Excel, ArcGIS/QGIS, STATA, R, and Python. The Research Officer will follow data protocols, promote best practices, maintain IT systems, document procedures, and ensure safety by assessing hazards and reporting incidents, while adhering to institutional policies.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, data/computer science/engineering, or a similar quantitative discipline, along with strong computer, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of an ‘O’ level pass, a valid driving license in categories B, C, D, and E, and at least 5 years of experience in a busy office environment, preferably within an NGO setting. Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential, along with a good command of Kiswahili.
