Introduction
Personally, I commend the employment secretariat for managing the recruitment exercise well, as this is a new process for both us and them within this cadre. There are points that I agree with the majority on, which are fundamental, and some that I believe are not fundamental, as they divide us based on criteria such as age and graduation year.
Challenges I Have Identified for the Institution
- The number of job opportunities is few compared to the number of teachers available in the field. This has caused some people to lose faith in the process. For example, if you look at the subject of Kiswahili IIIC, among those who applied, those called for interviews, and those who took the written test, you will notice that a large number of teachers did not proceed further in the process.
- The schedule for conducting written interviews, especially for those with two subjects. For instance, a person with History had to wait a long time to take the test for their second subject, which increases living costs, especially for those coming from far away to the interview location.
