Role Context:
As the Country Manager for Tanzania, you will be responsible for managing, developing, and expanding DHL’s express business in the region. You will provide leadership, ensure profitable growth, and maintain our reputation as an industry leader in service standards. Your role will be crucial in driving market leadership and enhancing customer satisfaction while upholding DHL’s core values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve service performance that exceeds customer expectations and differentiates DHL from competitors.
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers to ensure retention and growth of new business.
• Enhance DHL’s image with customers, business partners, and regulatory bodies to facilitate growth.
• Ensure the annual business plan, including revenue, profit, and service levels, is met.
• Develop and implement local tactical plans aligned with regional and global strategies.
• Provide strong leadership to communicate and implement agreed strategies and goals.
• Monitor market trends and competitor strategies to stay ahead in the industry.
• Improve business processes to enhance productivity and add value to DHL services.
• Ensure the financial well-being of the company through effective capital and debtor management.
• Plan and implement corrective actions to improve service performance while managing costs.
• Determine the country’s organizational structure, roles, and performance targets.

Minimum Requirements:

• University degree and relevant commercial/business qualifications.
• Significant senior or general management experience in the express/logistics/aviation industry or similar service-related businesses.
• Broad understanding of all functional aspects of the business and experience managing a Profit and Loss entity of similar size.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of the external economic environment.
• Exceptional leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to inspire and lead teams.
• Fluency in both English and French (spoken and written).
