ANNOUNCEMENT OF CONTRACT JOB VACANCIES FOR HEALTH CADRES

The Executive Director of the Karatu District Council announces job vacancies for contract positions in the Health Cadres for residents and citizens of Karatu District as follows:

1.0 Nurse Grade II – 2 Positions

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Perform nursing duties to serve clients in the community, hospitals, and all areas where health services are provided.
b. Supervise and coordinate all tasks of health workers in their work area.
c. Collect statistics and prepare performance reports.
d. Provide home-based care to patients.
e. Offer counseling and advice.
f. Provide immunization and family planning services.
g. Provide maternity and child health services.
h. Educate patients and the community about their health issues.
i. Monitor the maintenance of equipment in their work area.
j. Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and expertise.

1.1 QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANTS

Must have a two-year Nursing Certificate from a government-recognized institution, a certificate from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council (TNMC), and a Nursing License issued by the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.

2.0 Assistant Pharmacy Technician – 1 Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

a. Prepare requirements and usage of medicines and medical supplies.
b. Order, store, and distribute medicines and medical supplies in their work area.
c. Prepare reports on the usage of medicines and medical supplies.
d. Maintain records of medicines and medical supplies.
e. Perform other duties assigned by their supervisor related to their education, experience, and expertise.

2.1 QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICANTS

• Must have a Certificate in Pharmacy from a government-recognized institution and be registered with the relevant council where applicable.

3.0 GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR JOB APPLICANTS

• Applicants must have at least a Form Four education.
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen with a National Identification Card (NIDA) and be willing to work in any area within the Karatu District Council.
• Must be at least 18 years old and not older than 45 years.
• Applicants must not have a criminal record or have been imprisoned.
• Must be a permanent resident of the Karatu District Council area.
• Applicants who have retired or been dismissed from public service are not allowed to apply for these positions.
• Any applicant who submits false information will face legal action.
• Salary for these positions will be specified in the relevant employment contract.
• Applications must include a detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) along with copies of academic certificates and a birth certificate.
• The deadline for receiving applications is March 10, 2025, at 3:30 PM.
