EBENEZER CATHEDRAL PARISH

The Ebenezer Cathedral Parish, under the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) – Southeast of Lake Victoria Diocese, located in the Shinyanga Region, is announcing various job vacancies for qualified Christians who are ready to work within the Parish. Applications are invited for the following positions:

1. Laboratory Technologist (Grade II) – 3 Positions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Testing samples brought to the laboratory.
• Storing samples that require further investigation or referral to higher-level laboratories.
• Conducting laboratory inspections, maintaining equipment, chemicals, and chemical storage.
• Keeping records of laboratory findings during investigations.
• Supervising and training junior staff.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor, related to education, experience, and expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have a Diploma in Health Laboratory Sciences from a government-recognized institution, with at least three years of experience.
• Must be registered with the Health Laboratory Practitioners’ Council and possess a valid license.
• Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience.

2. Clinical Officer (Grade II) – 1 Position

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performing all duties of an Assistant Medical Officer.
• Diagnosing and treating common illnesses.
• Supervising junior staff and performing minor surgeries.
• Participating in planning and implementing primary healthcare services.
• Advising and encouraging community participation in health services.
• Maintaining records of equipment and tools used in service delivery.
• Preparing and submitting performance reports.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor, related to education, experience, and expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have a Diploma in Clinical Medicine from a government-recognized institution and be registered with the Tanganyika Medical Council.

3. Nursery School Teacher – 1 Position

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing lesson plans, teaching materials, and work schedules.
• Creating and maintaining teaching and learning tools.
• Teaching, assessing, and maintaining student progress records.
• Monitoring student attendance in school and class.
• Providing guidance and counseling to students.
• Offering professional advice on educational development.
• Managing and maintaining school property and resources.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the school head.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have a Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV) and a two-year Nursery Teacher Training Certificate from a government-recognized institution.

4. Finance and Reception Clerk – 1 Position

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Receiving payments for services, tests, and medicines at the clinic and depositing them in the bank.
• Maintaining financial records of all transactions at the clinic.
• Providing daily, weekly, and monthly income reports to the manager.
• Issuing receipts for all payments received and obtaining receipts for payments made.
• Preparing claims for various insurance companies contracted with the clinic.
• Registering and maintaining patient records.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must have a Diploma in Accounting from a government-recognized institution or a Diploma in a related field.
