The Public Service Recruitment Secretariat, on behalf of the National Institute of Transport (NIT), invites dynamic, proactive, experienced, and suitably qualified Tanzanians to apply for the following vacant position:

1.0 THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TRANSPORT (NIT)

The National Institute of Transport (NIT) is an autonomous higher learning institution established by the National Institute of Transport Act, No. 24 of 1982, and is fully accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) with Registration Number REG/EOS/009 of 2002.

1.1 TUTOR II IN FLIGHT OPERATIONS – 1 POST

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in training Flight Operations Trainees.
  • Conduct tutorial and practical exercises for Flight Operations Trainees under close supervision.
  • Prepare materials for practical exercises.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields: Aviation Management, Air Transport Management, Airport Management, Airline Management, Aviation Safety Management, Logistics and Transport Management, Logistics Management, Transport Management, or Meteorology with a GPA of at least 3.5 from a recognized institution.
  • Possession of a certificate of completion for Flight Operations Officer Course with a valid Flight Operations Officer License recognized by TCAA will be an added advantage.

1.1.3 SALARY SCALE

  • PTSS 3.1

GENERAL CONDITIONS

  1. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens, generally not above 45 years of age, except for those already in public service.

  • Professional Registration and Training Certificates from respective regulatory bodies (where applicable).
  • Birth certificate.

  2. Retired public servants are not eligible to apply.
  3. Applicants must provide three reputable referees with reliable contacts.
  4. Foreign examination certificates (Ordinary or Advanced Level) must be verified by the National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA).
  5. Professional certificates from foreign universities and training institutions must be verified by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) and the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE).
