The Secretary of the Secretariat of Employment in the Public Service, on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and Local Government Authorities (LGAs), invites job applications from qualified Tanzanians to fill one hundred and forty-seven (147) vacancies as outlined in this announcement.

1.1 TEACHER GRADE IIIA – 100 POSITIONS (Sumbawanga MC – 12, Ngara DC – 4, Bariadi TC – 8, Kyerwa DC – 14, Mtwara DC – 4, Mikuranga DC – 11, Geita DC -13, Kondoa DC – 6, Chemba DC – 7, Handeni DC – 5, Shinyanga DC – 7, Momba DC – 5, Meatu DC- 4)

1.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare work plans, lesson plans, lesson notes, and work schedules for assigned tasks;
ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and in class;
v. Oversee students’ mental, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. Provide professional and academic advice on educational development;
vii. Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and assets.

1.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a National Form Four Examination Certificate, having passed a two-year teaching training program from a government-recognized teachers’ college and awarded a Grade A Teaching Certificate.

1.1.3 SALARY SCALE

• According to the Government Salary Scale TGTS-B

2.1 TEACHER GRADE III B (MATHEMATICS) – 3 POSITIONS (Kondoa DC – 1, Ilemela MC – 1, Meatu DC-1)

2.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare work plans, lesson plans, lesson notes, and work schedules for assigned tasks;
ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and in class;
v. Oversee students’ mental, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. Provide professional and academic advice on educational development;
vii. Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and assets;
viii. Perform other duties as assigned by the school head based on school responsibilities.

2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a National Form Six Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a two-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Mathematics from a government-recognized teachers’ college.
• Applicants must have a National Form Four Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a three-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Mathematics from a government-recognized teachers’ college.

2.1.3 SALARY SCALE

• According to the Government Salary Scale TGTS-C

3.1 TEACHER GRADE III B (PHYSICS) – 12 POSITIONS (Sumbawanga MC – 1, Geita DC – 4, Rombo DC – 5, Shinyanga DC – 1, Meatu DC – 1)

3.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare work plans, lesson plans, lesson notes, and work schedules for assigned tasks;
ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and in class;
v. Oversee students’ mental, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. Provide professional and academic advice on educational development;
vii. Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and assets;
viii. Perform other duties as assigned by the school head based on school responsibilities.

3.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a National Form Six Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a two-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Physics from a government-recognized teachers’ college.
• Applicants must have a National Form Four Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a three-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Physics from a government-recognized teachers’ college.

3.1.3 SALARY SCALE

4.1 TEACHER GRADE III B (CHEMISTRY) – 4 POSITIONS (Sumbawanga MC – 1, Geita DC – 1, Rombo DC – 1, Handeni – 1)

4.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare work plans, lesson plans, lesson notes, and work schedules for assigned tasks;
ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and in class;
v. Oversee students’ mental, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. Provide professional and academic advice on educational development;
vii. Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and assets;

4.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a National Form Six Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a two-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Chemistry from a government-recognized teachers’ college.
• Applicants must have a National Form Four Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a three-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Chemistry from a government-recognized teachers’ college.

4.1.3 SALARY SCALE

4.2 TEACHER GRADE III B (BIOLOGY) – 2 POSITIONS (Ilemela MC – 1, Handeni – 1)

5.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;

5.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a National Form Six Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a two-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Biology from a government-recognized teachers’ college.
• Applicants must have a National Form Four Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a three-year Diploma in Education with a teaching subject in Biology from a government-recognized teachers’ college.

• Applicants must have a Bachelor of Education degree with a teaching subject in Mathematics or a Bachelor’s degree with a teaching subject in Mathematics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a government-recognized higher education institution.

7.1 TEACHER GRADE IIIC (PHYSICS)- 6 POSITIONS (Ngara DC – 1, Bariadi TC – 1, Mkuranga DC – 2, Rombo DC – 1, Handeni-1)

• Applicants must have a Bachelor of Education degree with a teaching subject in Physics or a Bachelor’s degree with a teaching subject in Physics and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a government-recognized higher education institution.

8.1 TEACHER GRADE IIIC (CHEMISTRY) – 8 POSITIONS (Ngara DC – 1, Bariadi TC – 1, Mkuranga DC – 2, Sengerema DC – 1, Ilemela MC – 2, Ministry of Education – 1)

8.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare work plans, lesson plans, lesson notes, and work schedules for assigned tasks;
ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and in class;

8.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a Bachelor of Education degree with a teaching subject in Chemistry or a Bachelor’s degree with a teaching subject in Chemistry and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a government-recognized higher education institution.

9.1 TEACHER GRADE IIIC (BIOLOGY) – 2 POSITIONS (Bariadi TC – 1, Ilemela MC – 1)

9.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and in class;

vi. Provide professional and academic advice on educational development;
vii. Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and assets;

9.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a Bachelor of Education degree with a teaching subject in Biology or a Bachelor’s degree with a teaching subject in Biology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a government-recognized higher education institution.

9.1.3 SALARY SCALE

10.1 TEACHER IIIB (ENGLISH) – 2 POSITIONS (RE-ADVERTISED) – Ministry of Education, Science and Technology

10.1.1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

i. Prepare work plans, lesson plans, lesson notes, and work schedules for assigned tasks;
ii. Develop and utilize teaching and learning materials;
iii. Teach, assess, and maintain records of students’ progress;
iv. Supervise and monitor students’ attendance in school and in class;
v. Oversee students’ mental, physical, and spiritual development and provide guidance and counseling;
vi. Provide professional and academic advice on educational development;
vii. Oversee the maintenance of school facilities and assets;
viii. Perform other duties as assigned by the school head based on school responsibilities.

10.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a National Form Four Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools, with a Grade A Teaching Certificate and completed a two-year training program leading to a Diploma in Early Childhood or Primary Education with a teaching subject in English recognized by government education and training accreditation bodies.
• Applicants must have a National Form Four Examination Certificate, having passed two or more subjects taught in schools and completed a three-year training program leading to a Diploma in Early Childhood or Primary Education with a teaching subject in English recognized by government education and training accreditation bodies.

10.1.3 SALARY SCALE:

• According to the Government Salary Scale TGTS-C.

GENERAL CONDITIONS.

i. All applicants must be Tanzanian citizens and not older than 45 years, except for women already employed by the government;

  vii. Applicants who studied abroad must ensure their certificates have been verified and approved by the relevant authorities (TCU, NECTA, and NACTE).
  viii. Retired public servants are not allowed to apply unless they have permission from the Chief Secretary.
  ix. Applicants who are already employed in entry-level positions in the Public Service should not apply and must follow the instructions in Circular No. CAC. 45/257/01/D/140 dated 30th November, 2010.
  x. Providing false information and qualifications will lead to legal action.
